A very common and widespread species that is the member of this genus and family found in Tasmania. It can be found growing on rocks, logs and trees commonly in wet sclerophyll forests and in more open spaces in sub alpine areas.
It has thick broad glossy leaves with large circular sori that make this a very easy to identify fern
