The aim of this is site is to provide an information gateway about our community, this page is to help you understand how the site works and the requiresments we have in place for its useage.

Some of the features of this site are provided by a third-party and as such we have no control over their policies or behaviours and we would remind our users to be aware of your own online activities.
You can find links below to all of our third-party providers and thier policies for your own benifit.

Privacy Policy

The design of this website has been so that we do not require personal information for it to run and whilst your IP may be logged at a server level we do not store this in a way that we can use it to identify you as the user.

When you visit our website our web server like most web servers automatically collects the following types of information.

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • The number of users who visit the website
  • The date and time of each visit
  • The pages accessed
  • The type of browser used
  • The links you click
  • The features you use
  • The content and images you select
  • How you have arrived at our pages
Some of this information may be used to prevent spam and other unwanted visitors other than this we do not use this information.

Comments Policy

The comment section can be a great place for interaction with other users or contributors to this site and if used appropriately it can help all of us!
To ensure that you have a good time on our site, all comments on this site are moderated requiring them to be approved before they are posted to the public, any comments that do not comply with the guidelines below will not be approved.

  • Be Polite - Don't be rude to anyone and respect others. If something you intend to say would cause grief to offline, please don't say it here. Remember there is a person behind the screen and that your words affect people.
  • Don't Troll - We appreciate and welcome criticism, but comments that add no value to the discussion or that are merely insulting or considered to be aggressive will be deleted without exception.
  • Spam - Is not wanted and whilst every effort will be made to prevent it any that slips through will be removed as soon as humanly possible.

Third-party providers are websites or systems other than those we run and as such we have no control over their policies or behaviours.
We do however monitor and watch these providers and listen to our users in terms of what they want from us so if needed we may change a provider to ensure the best service to our users.

Images & Other Media

This site uses a number of images and other media within its content, the ownership of this media remains with its original owner and in most cases links to the original source is provided.

Some images have been designed for use on this by Wild Roo Designs and as such those images are available free of charge under a creative commons license more details can be found on the project page.

  • iNaturalist Australia - Some content feeds to this site are provided by iNaturalist Australia. You will need to follow the links to review their licensing.
  • Flickr - Flickr is used to provide both content feeds and image hosting through out this site all licenses can be found by following the media links.
  • Youtube - Some video content is hosted on Youtube all licensing is available via the media links.
