About This Site

A community project for a small seaside town — and the story behind it.

The Story

From community portal to local treasure map

This website has been running for a number of years. It started out as a portal for the community and the volunteer fire brigade, and has since grown into a project dedicated to highlighting the local area — the places, the wildlife, and the many things you can find and do around Tomahawk.

It's a personal project and a labour of love: a working example of what I enjoy doing, and a hub built to help locals and visitors alike discover this quiet corner of Tasmania's north-east.

The flora & fauna records, galleries and location guides are an ongoing effort, and community contributions — photos, sightings, corrections, local knowledge — are what keep them growing.
