It is an erect shrub or small tree with yellow flowers held in a cylindrical spike, from June to December. The leaves are varied with coastal forms being boarder and thick whilst forrest forms have very narrow ones

Can grow to around 5m high

Habitat

Heath understorey in open forest or woodland in valleys and on hillsides; often found in damp situations

Distribution

South Eastern Australia from NSW to SA including Tasmania
