The Wavy Volute is the most common species in this family and is a carnivore and feeds on other marine snails at night when they are active

Identification

A solid shell that has a varible patern that normally features an orangish background with thin wavy brown lines, the foot also features wavy like lines

Size

Can grow to around 120mm whilst more typically 80 - 90mm

Habitat

Lives subtidally on sand out to a depth of around 450m

Distribution

Southern mainland Australia and Tasmania
