About

This shells appearance varies slightly from narrow to broad striped lines that form continuously around the body whorls at an oblique angle and can be coloured from blacks to reddish browns. The body whorls three to four spiral ribs.

It can be difficult to tell this species apart from Austrocochlea brevis

Size

Can grow to around 43mm however 25mm is more common

Habitat

Can be found interidally attached to rocks or amoungst seaweeds

Distribution

From central Queensland to Western Australia including around Tasmania
