About

Resembeling a chunky pipe cleaner this species of seaweed has a long stem(thallus) that tapers at the tip and is green in colour.

Size

Can grow to around 40cm long

Habitat

Low intertidal rocks just below low tide level, attached to rock/stone or jetty piles, to depth of 42 m

Distribution

Southern Australia from WA to Vic including around Tasmania
