About

A species of sea snail that's shell is turban shapped with rounded whorls the colour is variable with the background normally a dark grey to black overlayed with yellow to white or pale tessellation although in some cases the tessellations do become the more dominant colour.

Size

Can grow to a width of up to around 25mm

Habitat

Lives intertidally, among rocks and stones, on moderately sheltered shores

Distribution

South-eastern and south-western Australia including Tasmania
