About

This five armed seastar has a wide disc that tappers into thin tips. The surface is covered with seperated "tables" each with small wedge-shaped granules around the edge. It is red to orange in colour it may sometimes be mottled by some lighter and darker tables

Size

Can grow up to around 13cm from centre to arm tip

Habitat

On rocky substrates, to depth of 230 m

Distribution

Southern Australian coasts
