About

A greenish to brownish or bluish weed whiting. Juveniles and females are greenish to brown becoming pale below, with a dark midlateral stripe from the snout tip to the tail base. Males are reddish-brown or bluish with red and blue wavy lines on the head and blue fin margins

Size

Can grow to around 16cm

Habitat

Preferring sheltered areas such as estuaries and also on rocky reefs and in seagrass beds

Distribution

Southern Australian coast, from NSW to WA including Tasmania
