Found under rocks in the low intertidal areas these small polychaete worms are one of a couple found locally

Identification

The small scales on the back of of this species do not cover the entire dorsal surface unlike other scale worms and the only one in Australia that is like this

Size

Can grow to around 50mm in length

Habitat

Under rocks and algae from intertidal areas out to a depth of around 44m

Distribution

Southern Australia including around Tasmania
