Colour varies from a uniform bright orange to mottled and stellate patterns in brown pink and purple. This species has 5 arms with the arm rays merge with thee disc. Six large plates around the edge between arm tips.

Can grow up to around 5 cm

Habitat

In the open or under rocks in the lower intertidal and sub-tidal zones, to depth of 40 m

Distribution

Southern Australian coasts from WA to Vic including Tasmania
