About

This alga is dark brown to light brownish-orange in colour with flat bladed branches that are mostly spirally twisted at least in their upper parts with faint concentric growth or hair zones and often with darker central cells.

Size

Can grow to around 22cm long

Habitat

Can be found on subtidal rocky reefs out to a depth of around 38 m

Distribution

Southern Australia including around Tasmania
