Locally along Tomahawk Beach it can be found under rocks and is less common than Chthamalus antennatus

Identification

Colour is normally a greyish towards the base easing to white at the top of the four outer side plates. Each plate features lighter coloured ridges. The opening is diamond shaped.

This species from the outside looks identical to Austrominius covertus but one black spot on the mantle.

Size

Can grow to around 10mm in both hieght and width

Habitat

Can be found along rocky shores and out to a depth of 90m

Distribution

Can be found around Southern Australia including around Tasmania
